If the network is “Mysteriously” disappearing, first thing I would is to check
the event log.

Installing an “Application” shouldn’t affect the Network and/or video, unless
the Application is installing Kernel Mode components (you don’t mention what is
being installed).

Additionally, there may be OS updates that were installed either in the task
sequence, or in the background.

Subject: [MDT-OSD] Dell Optiplex 7020 - Win10 Deployment

Hello,

I’m trying to deploy Windows 10 to a couple different Optiplex 7020’s, and I’m
getting some strange behavior. Everything is great until MDT starts installing
applications after applying the OS. 3 or 4 smaller applications will install
without a problem, then a combination of two things happen

1.) the monitor will start cycling through every color of the spectrum at rapid
pace (I’m connected to the onboard VGA port)

2.) The deployment will fail with the “No physical adapters present” error

3.) or both.

I have:

*Re-imported the 7020 drivers from the Dell driver cab file

*Imported the WinPE10 driver cab

*Thrown in random reboots around the time it usually happens

*Changed the install order of the different applications.

*Updated the BIOS to the latest version

None of those have helped. The strange thing is that the deployment will all of
a sudden fail. It’s not like the computer reboots and can’t find the network
adapter; it installs one application goes right into the next one, and fails.
When I do an ipconfig immediately after the failure, the computer has a valid
IP address. I was able to image Optiplex 960 with this same TS without issue,
and it’s happening on more than one 7020. Has anyone else seen this issue or
have any advice?

Thanks in Advance,

Adam
