3169. Dari Abu Hurairah r.a.: Ketika peristiwa Khaibar terjadi, sebuah daging domba panggang yang beracun diberikan kepada Rasulullah sebagai hadiah (dari kaum Yahudi). Rasulullah berkata, âPanggillah semua orang Yahudi yang pernah hadir di sini.â Orang-orang Yahudi itu pun dikumpulkan dan Rasulullah berkata (kepada mereka), âAku akan menanyakan kepadamu sebuah pertanyaan. Apakah kamu akan mengatakan yang sejujurnyaâ Mereka berkata, âYa.â Rasulullah bertanya, âSiapakah ayahmuâ Mereka menjawab, âSi fulan dan si fulan.â Ia berkata, âKamu telah berbohong; ayahmu adalah si fulan dan si fulan.â Mereka berkata, âEngkau benar.â Beliau berkata, âApakah sekarang kamu akan mengatakan yang sebenarnya, bila aku bertanya tentang sesuatuâ Mereka menjawab, âYa, Ya Abul-Qasim; dan bila kami berbohong, engkau akan mengetahuinya seperti engkau mengetahui kebohongan kami mengenai ayah kami.â Beliau bertanya, âSiapakah penghuni neraka ituâ Mereka berkata, âKami akan menjadi penghuni neraka untuk waktu yang singkat, dan setelah itu engkau akan mengangkat kami darinya.â Rasulullah berkata, âKalian akan dikutuk dan dipermalukan di sana! Demi Allah, kami tak akan pernah mengangkatmu darinya.â Lalu beliau bertanya, âApakah sekarang kamu akan mengatakan yang sebenarnya bila aku mengajukan sebuah pertanyaan.â Mereka berkata, âYa, Ya Abul-Qasim.â Beliau bertanya, âApakah kamu meracuni domba iniâ Mereka berkata,âBenar.â Beliau bertanya, âApa yang membuatmu melakukannyaâ Mereka berkata, âKami ingin mengetahui apakah engkau adalah seorang pembohong, dimana kami kelak akan mengejekmu, dan bila engkau benar seorang Rasul maka racun tersebut tak akan mencelakaimu.â
3169. Narrated Abu Hurairah r.a.: When Khaibar was conquered, a roasted poisoned sheep was presented to the Prophet as a gift (by the Jews). The Prophet ordered, âLet all the Jews who have been here, be assembled before me.â The Jews were collected and the Prophet said (to them), âI am going to ask you a question. Will you tell the truthâ They said, âYes.â The Prophet asked, âWho is your fatherâ They replied, âSo-and-so.â He said, âYou have told a lie; your father is so-and-so.â They said, âYou are right.â He said, âWill you now tell me the truth, if I ask you about somethingâ They replied, âYes, O Abul-Qasim; and if we should tell a lie, you can know our lie as you have done regarding our father.â On that he asked, âWho are the people of the (Hell) Fire.â They said, âWe shall remain in the (Hell) Fire for a short period, and after that you will replace us.â The Prophet said, âYou may be cursed and humiliated in it! By Allah, we shall never replace you in it.â Then he asked, âWill you now tell me the truth if I ask you a question.â They said, âYes, O Abul-Qasim.â He asked, âHave you poisoned this sheepâ They said, âYes.â He asked, âWhat made you do soâ They said, âWe wanted to know if you were a liar, in which case we would get rid of you, and if you are a Prophet then the poison would not harm you.â ------------------------ Yahoo!
