Hi, I'm working on getting portmidi into Gentoo. There are some problems though.
First, the gentoo-bug has a patch attached that comes from the debian-package and seems to fix a whole bunch of things: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90614 Can you have a look and see if this could be applied? Beside that, Gentoo has some QA-checks and reports textrels in the portmidi-libs: QA Notice: the following files contain runtime text relocations Text relocations force the dynamic linker to perform extra work at startup, waste system resources, and may pose a security risk. On some architectures, the code may not even function properly, if at all. For more information, see http://hardened.gentoo.org/pic-fix-guide.xml Please include this file in your report: /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/portmidi-20061030/temp/scanelf-textrel.log TEXTREL usr/lib/libportmidi.so.0.0.0 TEXTREL usr/lib/libporttime.so.0.0.0 I've uploaded the scanelf-log to http://www.schokokeks.org/~hanno/portmidi-scanelf-textrel.log -- Hanno Böck Blog: http://www.hboeck.de/ GPG: 3DBD3B20 Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
