For use with common music, look at the pm_cl (for Common Lisp) directory
in the PortMidi distribution. I've been working with Rick Taube and
Leigh Smith on this. I don't think things are completely settled as
things do change on both ends and it's tough to keep everything working
together, but I think this will get you pretty close. Let me know if you
get stuck or have corrections to contribute. -Roger
