07/07/07 01:09 No country can interfere in RI`s internal affairs, VP says
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President M Jusuf Kalla said no one has the right to interfere in Indonesia`s internal affairs including the Papua case. "No country has the right to intervene in Indonesia`s domestic problems. It is like members of the House of Representatives (DPR) in their visit to Hawaii, for instance, asked the population (in Hawaii) to secede from the United States, in this case the perpetrator can be arrested," Kalla said in his office here on Friday. The Veep said, others like the U.S. may share views about Indonesia`s internal problem, but not all the views should be accepted because Indonesia is a sovereign country. "We (RI, U.S) are friendly countries, but it doesn`t mean the US could interfere in Indonesia`s domestic problem. So, if anyone would like to intervene in Indonesia`s internal affairs, it is impossible to do that. Indonesia also respects other countries` sovereignty," the Veep added. (*)
