Is it as simple as this?

style="width: 50%;"|
style="width: 50%;"|

Subject: [MediaWiki-l] Images in tables

I would like to display images in tables, similar to <gallery> but I
want the images to be in a table across the width of the page.

Specifically, I want two columns of images that span the entire width of
the page, with each image taking 50% (or slightly less if borders are
used) of the available page width.

I've tried various combinations of style and such and they all seem to
be ignored.

Is there a way to display images relative to the width of the page? or
fitted inside tables?

style="width: 50%;"|
style="width: 50%;"|

does not work.
