Please reread the problem, either 3rd party or Medibuntu works separately, but not when both repos are checked. To reproduce the problem, Synaptic|Settings|Repositories|Other Software, checking either the partner repo, or the Medibuntu repo, separately, results in a successful update. When both repos are checked an error occurs. I see that Medibuntu doesn't write its repo to the /etc/apt/sources.list, but writes its repo to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list If the problem is reproducible, then it will occur when users have both canonical partners software and Medibuntu software repositories selected, and will confuse users who want to load Medibuntu packages.
