For our 4.9 upgrade, the theme was tropical. I sent out MOX messages with
ASCII designs of palm trees, tropical fish, lobsters, etc. We put up posters
using tropical colors and clip art and we bought tropical party favors at the
local Dollar Tree and put something up in every department and nursing unit.

For 5.4, we did "leavin' on the 5.4 plane" theme. We got patterns for paper
air planes and had the implementation team build and fly their plane before
bringing the meeting to order. (Yes, some people are scrooges and wouldn't
participate, but . . . paper air planes can be dangerous in the wrong hands
<grin>.)

In PFS, I created "fish bowl" teams for projects, gave each member of a team a
different fish personalized with her name and team (clip art in Power Point)
and put smaller images of each fish into a fish bowl (again, clip art in Power
Point) and printed them all for our bulletin board. This was loosely based on
the same "fish" book that Ami mentioned (I think). One of our Access
supervisors had just been to a seminar based on the whole fish market/throwing
fish concept, so as we talked, the idea formed.

I'm thinking that we'll copy Ami and try the fishing thing in the upcoming 5.5
release! That sounds very cool!

Patti,

Implementation slogans are a great way to get a positive spin on a not
so pleasant install. I have used the book "Catch The Energy & Release
the Potential - FISH" by Stephen C. Lundin for a slogan and then put
fish everywhere. I did a whole poster for the implementation timeline
with fishing rods, boats, and fish. Each time we would pass a phase a
Fish would go in the boat. And, when someone did a great job they would
get a Fish on the cubical. I know I am a dork but it worked to keep the
hospital motivated and it was fun. Oh, and it is a good book too.

Physician Mnemonic: Use six characters- first three letter of last
name, first three letters of first name.

The same name exceptions: Usually there is a different middle initial-
but the approach below really helps ADM folks.

Mnemonic Name
DOEJOH1 Doe,John MD
DOEJOH2 Doe,John A MD (note: no space after the comma)

For JR, etc: Use the same mnemonic format, first three letter of
last name, first three letters of first name.

Hi all,

1) Anyone have any good slogans for an install? Preferable a market
install?

2) Did you go with the Meditech recommendation for the Provider
Dictionary mnemonics? If not, what did you use
     for mnemonics and why?

Thanks in advance!
