What I've seen some folks do is have pharmacy set up a special "remove
patch/paste" mnemonic that doesn't generate a charge in PHA. One can
then have the regular patch order (on at 0800) and a "remove" order (off
at 2200). These both will show up on the MAR and can be documented at
the appropriate times. The orders can be linked together in PHA to help
them remember to D/C the "remove" order when they D/C the patch. One
can't simply set the patch with a BID code (once to put on, once to
remove) or it double charges...

Hi All,
When users document that they are putting a patch on and removing
the
old one, how are they documenting this? I was thinking we would
schedule Q3D
(or what ever the frequency is ) and then include a CDS for them to
document
that they removed the old one and wasted it. Is anyone doing this?
Also, if
they are removing the patch and not putting on another one, how are
you
prompting them so they can say they removed the patch?

Thanks
