There is a standard routine you can use to convert MOX text documents to RTF files, which preserves the formatting and allows them to be opened in Word.
I have done programming for several sites to create a PC based hierarchy of folders to duplicate cabinets and drawers and to convert the text documents in those cabinets and drawers into RTF files with document names converted from their names in MOX. (You need to strip the illegal characters like / from the names). I have done a "Workstation download" and a "FTP transfer" version of the conversion programming. The FTP Transfer version runs faster, the "Workstation download" was for a site that wanted to let each user convert their own files to their own local PC's. My code uses the MT conversion program, so the quality of the MOX to RTF translation is just as good, or bad, as you would see with the standard routine. I know I have suggested the RTF conversion standard routine to other sites, and they have found that to be sufficient for their conversion needs. It is far superior to a PRINT ON DOWNLOAD solution, which will really mess up any formatting in the MOX documents. If the standard routine does not seem convenient enough, feel free to contact me and I can send you a proposal. Additionally, if you have any OA databases to convert, we have done programming to extract OA databases into a delimited flat file. Typically the time consuming part of any conversion of OA databases is scrubbing of the data, as the OA database had no data-type checking so fields that are supposed to be dates, times, users, departments etc need to be checked if you want to import the data into a real database where a date better be a date.
