This could run a whole range of items depending on your volumes and budget. Desktop packagers for oral solids and liquids, hand fed over-wrap for odd items, auto packagers (Automed, FDS, Swisslog) to robotics from McKesson or Swisslog as well, and picking carousels. We have done several Medication Management multi-year plans to phase in this technology combined with dispensing machines and/or exchange carts. And don't forget about bedside documantation carts for nursing either filled by pharmacy or from a remote dispensing machine to transport the meds to the beside and be on-line at the same time. There are many pathways to get you ready for BMV and eMAR and there is none that fits all facilities. My best advice is to research the market by attending conferences and trade shows, determine your long term plan and then most important plan your implementation steps. Too much too fast is prone to failure. Terry Terry Lehmann B.S.P. Consultant Healthtech Inc. We are CS5.5 SR2 and I already have the info for the PHA Barcode printer as well as the handheld scanners but do not know what route to take for repackaging in the PHA. Any help would be appreciated.
