Ken: I don't believe there are any translation products that are sufficiently accurate for medical or legal documents. Languages can have subtle ambiguities that can only be resolved from an intelligent understanding of the context of the words and a good knowledge of both languages at this time. I have looked into this issue with our interpreter services particularly for Spanish. They found that the automated translations did not even give them a good starting point for a technically correct rendering of the original text. I do use various on line translatators to help me read news articles, but often the translations are as clueless as I am. Here is an example from: http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr that illustrates the problems. The loss lowered the spirits of the fans. Translation: La perdida bajo los alcoholes de los ventiladores. Back to english that becomes: The loss lowered the alcohol of the ventilators. I suspect the future will bring us better products, but I don't think we are there yet for our uses in this environment.
