I had replied directly to Gail, but since you are asking, here is my reply to
her. We are a MAGIC site. The other option that would work for this, if it is
a frequently used type of occurrence, would be to make it an appointment set
with the parameters described by Gail.
-------------
Gail,
I was able to schedule a series based on your example here by booking the
initial appt. and answering yes to the book series question. At the series
prompts, I chose the two days of the week that would be used for the 2x/week
week of treatment, and booked 6 of them, to account for the 3 weeks of
treatment. I then picked the day that would be the third day on the week that
the patient was to receive 3x/week treatment, and booked 2 of them, and then
finally booked the leftover day for the first week, to get the whole series in.
 It looked like this:
Initial appointment:
1 (appt. type) (dur) 02/12/07 MON 0900 (location)

Frequency Day Time Qty Thru Date
Every TR(Tues/Thur) 0900 6
Every FRI 0900 2
Every WED 0900 1

The series looks like:(Monday appt. booked initially)
02/13 Tue
02/14 Wed
02/15 Thu
02/16 Fri
02/20 Tue
02/22 Thu
02/23 Fri
02/27 Tue
03/01 Thu As you can see, this gives me a week of daily, a week of 3/wk,
and a week of 2x/wk. If you want it to be the same therapist, you check Y on
the Use same resource question, otherwise leave blank. I'd look at the
resource group first, if I needed to see who was available for 8 weeks, but I
don't use the pending appointments feature.

Hope that helps.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Series Appointments

Anyone using Community Wide Scheduling for a Physical Therapy
department? I am trying to implement and cannot find an efficient way
to negotiate screens quickly to search for the therapist who can see the
patient for the first week every day, then 3x per week, then 2x per
week. It would appear that the series routine would have to be used 3
times to accomplish this. Also, when processing pending appointments
how do you quickly view the therapist who has the next 8 weeks open?
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.
