JOB TITLE: Clinical Support Analyst POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Analyst is responsible for coordinating clinical projects with management, users, IS staff and vendors. Analyzes clinical users information system requirements and departmental information flows. Develops and implements system test plans and provides system maintenance and enhancement for clinical users. Develops and provides general and special purpose user training. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES/COMPETENCIES: 1) Responsible to maintain a level of competency in system operations to analyze and diagnosis critical problems and take immediate action to independently resolve the problem or notify other technical staff. 2) Possess ability to assess, plan, develop and implement complex projects using project management skills 3) Demonstrates effective education skills in teaching multi-disciplinary groups required. 4) Demonstrates effective communication skills in working with clinic staff, providers and other Information Services personnel 5) Follows up with staff and providers to assure satisfaction of resolution to problems 6) Assists users with changes and routines that will enhance efficiency 7) Follows up with new users to address any difficulties they may be having 8) Coordinates and provides training materials for enhancements and upgrades 9) Keeps other Information Services personnel informed of events that could potentially affect their duties 10) Sets up clinical access dictionaries 11) Produces Audit trails based on established polices and at the request of the Information Services Director 12) Organizes and conducts periodic meetings to provide a forum for raising and resolving issues related to clinic activities 13) Responds to services request from hospital staff in a timely manner 14) Assume a leadership role in discussions with hospital employees and providers to ascertain specific output requirements, i.e., (but not limited to) degree of data summarization and format of reports. Present several alternative solutions, and advises senior management on best courses of action. 15) Promotes an awareness of the importance of data validity and data security.
