For those of you LIVE with an orders interface from a physician EMR, how
do you handle the following situations?

1) RAD orders that need to be scheduled

2) LAB routine orders that can be drawn at any time over the next
couple weeks at any drawing station

We are at the beginning stages of planning for an interface and would
like to have access to the electronic order, but are thinking that these
patients could not be registered and the order placed through the
interface because at the time of order the exam/collection date is
unknown.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

We have a joint venture with Iatrics POI (which we did some
modifications), Clinician (Emdeon) and Meditech. We have 1 office live
and they order tests in their EMR (Intergy), they cross to Meditech
electronically and when the results are complete they go back to the
office EMR. For offices that do not have an EMR they will be able to
place orders directly into Clinician's website and the orders will cross
into Iatrics POI worklist and wait for the patient to come in. (this
portion is not live yet)

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Electronic Physician Ordering

I am interested in knowing what solutions organizations have put in
place concerning Electronic Physician Ordering from outside Physician
Offices. We have had requests from Physician offices to send their Lab
work to our facility but only if they can electronically order from
their own Physician offices. If you could elaborate on what you have in
place it would be greatly appreciated.

Respecfully,
