I'm assuming everyone has received their notice from Ortho by now detailing a
documented issue at least with Cerner systems and the ProVue, but cautioning
other computer vendors.
I'm trying to determine if anyone else has had a similar issue to what we are
experiencing. We went LIVE with BBK and the ProVue earlier this month.
Validation and testing went without a hitch and the interface worked fine when
we went LIVE. Last week, following the upload of a couple dozen unit retypes
and a couple patient results, the interface errored out. Since that time, we
can usually download orders, but every attempt at uploading results fails and
generates an error state on the Meditech interface. We get error codes #8 & #10
(not defined in the manual) on the ProVue computer. All ProVue interface
settings and the Meditech analyzer type dictionary entries have been reviewed
and verified, the termserver has been reset, the wiring verified, and we have
had Meditech put a trace on the interface. Ortho has a copy of their log and
Meditech is reviewing the trace, with no response from either as yet. Has
anyone seen this or can recommend something to try. All hardware has been reset
or rebooted, and all software settings verified. We had a couple power bumps,
but this equipment is plugged into a UPS.

My other question, since the reported issue involved potential storage of
incorrect results, has anyone made a decision to attempt to create the same
scenario in Meditech, or taken the interface offline to revalidate it?
Thanks,
Paul
