Our Oncology Clinic has inquired about the possibility of emailing
patients appointment reminders. Is anyone using OA Messages to do this?
If so, I'd love to talk to you about how this has worked for you, the
pros and cons, etc.
Thanks,

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] How do you distribute MEDITECH Remote
Workstationupdates?

We're needing to update every PC in the house with the latest version of
the MEDITECH Remote Workstation (side note: if you're MAGIC & going to
5.61, this probably will apply to you as well; since the update, we've
seen some strange issues occurring in NUR with older versions of the
Workstation that don't happen with the newest, which is 4.20d). We can
use Group Policy Manager to update software if it is in a .msi format,
but MEDITECH uses .exe's.

How do you push these out? Do you have software that creates .msi's
from the .exe's? Do you have other software that you use to push these
out?

If you have a date and time to use you can use the %Z.elapsed.time Z
program
and if you want the results in minutes look at the KB article:

Hello,

Do any of you use Spheris or Medscribe for your transcription/dictation
service? Or is there anyone that you would recommend using? My facility
would like to hear any input you might have on either company, or any
other company that might be out there. I'll take any comments you want

Hi Janet,

 If you are looking for a complete practice management software that is
fully integrated to Meditech, you should look at LSS. LSS is partnered
with meditech and is written in magic. It shares a single EMR, and works
nicely with CWS. If you are looking just to send results to your
practices check out Iatric POI, it's a nice direct HL -7 that will feed
OV software.

Jackie

You may want to craft a script for presenting an ABN to the patient from
the following web sites:

Are both times always for the same date?

%Z.time.sub(A,B) might work.

NPR Report:

      VAL=IF{%Z.time.sub([ANS,"query a"]|0,[ANS,"query a"]|0)}

Customer Defined Screen:

      IFE=IF{%Z.time.sub([ANS,"query a"]|0,[ANS,"query a"]|0)^ET

 Or

DFT=%Z.date.in.magic(S(0))

Or

DFT=/.DAT

Then you could use the Z.elapsed.time program

ELASPED TIME IN MINUTES:

The last argument needs to be hh.hh and then you multiply x 60

IFE=IF{%Z.elapsed.time([ANS,"NUR.EENDDT"]|0,

IFE=[ANS,"NUR.EEND"]|0,

IFE=[ANS,"NUR.EBEGDT"]|0,

IFE=[ANS,"NUR.EBEGIN"]|0,"hh.hh")*60^/VAR

IFE=/VAR^/[ANS%0,"NUR.TOT"]|0,P(R,S,/VAR)^#,""}

This takes 4 responses/values to calculate the elapsed time.

END DATE,END TIME,START DATE,START TIME

------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------

I think the following should take care of it:

%Z.time.lapse(%Z.elapsed.time(ENDDATE,ENDTIME,STARTDATE,STARTTIME,"hh:mm
"))/60

Z.elapsed.time will return the time in hh:mm format. Z.time.lapse will
return

the number of seconds from that time. Dividing that result by 60 will
return

the number of minutes.

OR Pre Schedules a patient for surgery, let's say for the 29th, then the
patient's doctor decides to have them come in on the 28th for an
outpatient procedure. Admissions wants to use the same encounter number
from the Pre Sch patient since they are going from Outpatient status
right over to inpatient status but because the patient is Pre Scheduled
Admissions cannot change the date of service when they admit them early
unless we have OR remove the patient's appointment. This doesn't happen
too often but it does enough to be a nuisance. Does anyone have a set
process on how they handle this?

Hello Janet & L'ers

A solution to sending information to a physicians office EMR is not cut
and
dry. The System must be able to except an HL7 feed and import it, as
well as
be able to reconcile the hospital report with that in the physicians
EMR.
You will need to work closely with your physicians practices to make
sure
the system they purchase will work with the specific Hl-7 feeds you
require,
Lab, Radiology / I.T.S. , Nursing notes, Departmental .....

Interbit Data's Intgration Wizard allows you to take reports generated
by
the MEDITECHR HCIS and reformat them into HL7 messages allowing easy
integration to specific Physician's Practice EMR's. The Integration
Wizard
is fully integrated with our NetDelivery and the MEDITECH faxing
routines in
both Magic and Client/Server.

The NetDelivery Integration Wizard option offers additional features and
benefits that ensure efficiency and security:

 Integration with physician's EMR becomes as easy as printing a report.

 Recipients and destinations can be extracted from reports to increase
the
accuracy of who gets what report, improve security by not sending
information to the wrong person, or having confidential patient
information
sitting on an unsecured Fax machine.

 Reports can be sent to multiple recipients to improve efficiency.

 Outbound queues can be centrally managed to improve the management of
your
communications.

 MPI mapping can be defined to ensure reports are associated with the
correct patient file.

If you would like more information, please visit our web site at
www.interbitdata.com or feel free to call me.

I think this has been asked before, but we are wondering what Physician
office software is being used and how or if it interfaces with Meditech.

Thanks.

We are just bringing up our Nursing module utilizing clinical
documentation. We are looking to those clients using Meditech Magic and
those who also have the MedPlus ChartMaxx product and are interfacing
that clinical documentation into ChartMaxx. Would like to inquire as to
how your site is doing this, i.e. via virtual printer, HL7,
scripting....?   Thanks.
