Actually, the issue she is talking about is that in OE, when ordering
multiple tests that use the same screen, values from the first order
auto populate the following screens. This happens prior to the user
even having to enter it. I have seen this before and it probably
happens because it is assumed if you have the same question on multiple
orders being entered in the same session that the answer will usually be
the same for all tests.

However, I am not seeing that happen at this time in our OE. But, I
have seen it before. Using the IFE attribute, but allowing the user to
stop and edit the answer if appropriate would fix it. In the case that
Maria mentions, you would use this attribute. Of course the user would
have to actually enter that query in order for this attribute to be
triggered.

IFE=IF{"N"^/[ANS%0,"YOURQUERY"]|0,P(R,S,"N")^# 1}

Subject: Re: [MEDITECH-L] Defaulting answer to and OE query when
ordering atest

Maria,

If you NEVER want the user to be able to edit the defaulted value, you
can default using an IFE attribute and then skip the query. This way,
the cursor never stops and the user can't edit. It is a little
different than a simple DFT attribute. Try this:

IFE=IF{"Y"^/[ANS%0,"YOURQUERY"]|0,P(R,S,"Y")^# "";""}

Be sure to replace YOURQUERY with the mnemonic of the query on which
you are placing this attribute.

Hope this helps,
Kenny Whiteside

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help with defaulting an answer to a
query on an OE procedure and when the defaulted answer is edited by
the
user the next ordered test continues to retain the original default to
the query. I have the CDS attached to Lab category in OE, I want the
default to the question to be "N" however when a lab test is being
ordered and the user edits the question to "Y" the other ordered test
default "Y" instead of "N".
