Hi Maria,
We did not add Diagnosis but we are using suggested problem per
query link and it is the RN's responsibility to go in and initialize the
care plan on the patients after the history and initial assessment have
been completed. The LVN can go in after the initial plan of care has
been developed and accept any additional problems or deny additional
problems that the system has generated. Hope this helps. Susan Ottmers

For those of you out there that use query links to add diagnosis to the
care plan, how do you accomplish adding a care plan on the admission
assessment by triggering diagnosis if the nurse is an LPN? Do you have
an RN review the care plan chosen by the LPN and document a note, etc..?

I work at a C/S 5.5 Meditech facility and am in the process of building
the PCS module.

I'm wondering what other people use as their daily physical shift
assessment - do you use the same assessment form that you use for
admission or have you created a whole new assessment? I would
appreciate any screen shots that you would be able to share. Thanks in
advance.

We take an average over the previous 3-6 months, (depending on how often
the particular procedure is done), by surgeon. We explain to the
patient
that this is only an estimate and that it could be more or less
depending
on various factors. We will provide estimates over the phone, if they
have
the exact procedure name and surgeon's name as written on their surgical
order. We do not have a written disclaimer, but since we have a report
that runs the information, if the patient is present and we are
pre-registering them, we put a copy into their pre-reg file as back-up.

Hello,

This is not entirely Meditech related, but I thought someone on the list
would have knowledge in this area.? We are trying to find out how other
facilities provide estimates for surgical procedures for patients.? We
have
been inundated with calls from self pay patients who are shopping around
for their elective procedures.? I would like to know the following:

How do you derive the estimate ? e.g. do you pull historical data for
that procedure code from ABS or BAR and provide an average?
Do you require the patient to sign any type of disclaimer prior to
   receiving the estimate?
If so, what items are included in the disclaimer?
Do you provide estimates over the phone?

Any information that you could pass on would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Sarah,

The purpose of the FCLA attribute is to not let the user move on to the
next query. The FCLAn is evaluated only if the corresponding FCLn is
"true" or "has a value". So, try this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]"N" [EMAIL PROTECTED]("Are you sure you want the OT
Eval?")="Y" "";1};""}
FCLA1=1

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Attribute Help

Hi,

I need some attribute help. I have a question for the user that is a
y/n query called PT EVAL:<Y/N>. If they answer no I want it to ask the
user if they are sure they do not want the pt eval. I am using the
following attribute for that part. [EMAIL PROTECTED]"N" @W.yes.no("ARE
YOU SURE YOU WANT THE OT EVAL?". If they answer yes to this it will
skip many queries and go to the OT Eval. I have a normal skip attribute
attached to all the PT Eval queries IFE=[ANS, "QUERY"]|0'="N" for the no
answer to make it skip. What I need it to do is if they say no to the
"Are you sure" question that it will go back to the query PT EVAL:<Y/N>
and not skip to the OT EVAL. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,

Sarah Thornton
