Mailing list name changes were proposed, but we decided to work on better communication, descriptions and education instead. We did say that if this didn't work that we would discuss renaming the lists after we got the new infrastructure up and running at OSU. However, so far, the situation does seem to be improving, so there are no plans to rename the lists. Renaming a mailing list is not a quick fix. There are technical and human issues. Realistically, we all have the mailing lists in our contacts or address books. From a technical standpoint, you either need to redirect the mail from the old address to the new, which would not solve our naming issue. Or you can not redirect the mail and create disruption and frustration. Either way, isn't going to really help us much. Instead, we have: * better descriptions on each mailing list into page. * this document to describe how we use each list: http://wiki.meego.com/Community_communication When you see someone posting to the wrong list, please point them to the correct mailing list and send them a link to the document above.
