Sounds like despite one major sponsor's interest, the netbook UX is on hold, and with the transfer of allegiance by another major sponsor, the handset UX is now to be put on hold, which leaves tablets and in-car entertainment.

So, no hope of my n900 or my rebadged MSI-Wind getting functional MeeGo on them. Pity. I can run Unity on the netbook, and it looks like Canonical is banking on Unity. I am still stuck with an unfinished Maemo on the n900. Still, I guess it is better that MeeGo gets ditched than bringing out another semi-amateur half-baked product on a mobile phone again.

Mish.

a) I'd like to know what the state of Meego actually is. How close is
it to actually running. I know about the dev list and I
follow it, but to me its very unclear as to what is and isn't
working and how much work it would take to actually get Meego running.
It runs, and indeed it runs very well, and has for some time;
1.0 released, what, nine months ago?

You'll have to be more specific. I imagine you're talking
about specfic products (unlikely to get a lot of ink here
except if they're shipping) and specific features.
