There is a general description of wiki maintenance tasks (I like to call
it "wiki gardening") here: http://wiki.meego.com/Wiki_gardening
The lowest level fixes we need are applying basic editorial standards to
wiki pages (page naming conventions, trying to maintain editorial
standards by editing pages for speeling misteaks and grammarial errors,
merging pages on similar subject matter, and ensuring that spam is dealt
with swiftly.
Useful links to help with the daily maintenance are:
* Recent changes: http://wiki.meego.com/Special:RecentChanges (allows
you to see at a glance spam and pages which need renaming)
* Orphaned pages (pages linked to from no other page):
http://wiki.meego.com/Special:LonelyPages - try to figure out an
appropriate page to link to this page. If a number of orphaned pages
follow some theme, perhaps a new portal page linking to them all is
appropriate
* Double redirects: http://wiki.meego.com/Special:DoubleRedirects and
broken redirects: http://wiki.meego.com/Special:BrokenRedirects are
typically artefacts of previous edits - a page redirects to a different
one which has either been moved again, or deleted, in the meantime.
These should be fixed to point at the most appropriate real content page.
Thanks for your help!
Dave.
