I don't think that's fair at all...   From everything I've seen, there
is no intent to make 'MeeGo' a curated environment like most flavours
of Android or the iPhone.   Neither Maemo nor Moblin put any
constraints on the software you install, and both let you easily get
root on the device.  It certainly looks to me like there are no plans
to change that in MeeGo.

I definitely don't think that having a maintainer decide what the
default filesystem will be is the same as having only Apple decide
what applications you can run on your device...

Maybe your definition of 'curated computing environment' is different
from how I've seen it used?
