N97 and N8 are not MeeGo phones. Those are Symbian phones.
It's as easy to get MeeGo running on them as an iPhone or a Blackberry.
(and this is assuming that it's doable with some effort on an Android phone,
but it's just an assumption)
Now, the phones that are known to run MeeGo are:
N900
Aava mobile phones
The N900 is also the only Maemo phone released.
