I'm always keeping an eye open on new stuff, and I am currently looking into systemd as a replacement for sysvinit (as well as upstart, and all the other variants out there).
However, I haven't had enough time yet thus far, and some of the methods used by systemd don't look that compatible with smartphones just yet.
