Dear all,

I've been following MeeGo since it was announced, although not being
particularly technical and with limited time (due to university studies), I
haven't really contributed anything as of yet. I'm on the look out for ways to
though.

I'm very much only thinking out loud having just considered this so please
don't feel afraid to shoot me down. I'm currently studying a Masters in Human
Centred Systems and looking for a project; I'm very interested in MeeGo's
netbook UI and it strikes me it would be a really interesting project idea (and
hopefully beneficial to MeeGo) to conduct a usability/UX evaluation on it.
Perhaps for example, looking at how users get on with the 'zone' concept that
is quite unique to MeeGo. My course is run by the Centre for Human Computer
Interaction Design at City University London so I could hopefully have access
to a great interaction lab and the right kind of people. (See:
http://hcid.soi.city.ac.uk/cityinteractionlab/ )

As I said, I've only just started thinking about this and so haven't bounced it
off anyone at my university yet, but didn't want to just sit on this idea. Do
you imagine this is something I could pursue, and do you think it could be of
benefit or consequence to MeeGo? I don't yet have a firm scope or direction, so
with a bit of input could perhaps take this in a direction somewhat of your (or
MeeGo's) choosing. I've so far been struggling to track down exactly who this
should specifically be addressed to, just to find out whether this is even
feasible or not! Any thoughts or pointers would be very much appreciated.

Best regards

Jon
