Is Nemo going to be collaborating with Plasma Active, or that will be a
separate distro?

From now on the Community Edition project will be called Nemo. It
continues being a community-driven UI/UX interface and hardware
adaptation for ARM/OMAP3-based devices such as Nokia N900 and N950.
The next step for the Nemo project is to re-base on top of Mer (see
http://mer-project.org/ for more on that), and the work is proceeding
well. Keep following us for more on that in the near future.
