I think I had a similar problem at one point. Unfortunately I forget what fixed it -- I seem to remember that I just tried updating to the latest SDK packages, reinstalling the runtime image (from mad-admin) and it started 'working'. I say "'working'" because after I got past that problem, I got the crash I reported at http://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=8953. I only mention this because I too am on openSUSE 11.3 x86_64 and i've been told that there's a good chance the image won't work due to lack of testing on 64bit systems. If you get it working (and I hope you do) could you post some details about your hardware here or on the bug report so I can see what's different about our systems.
