Thank you Filip,

I will give it a shot; if I'm successful, I will let you know.

Best,

Valery

Subject: Re: [Meep-discuss] how to install Meep on RedHat4 Linux Server

Hi, Valery, I have tentatively tried the procedure on ScientificLinux
6 (based on RH6) and now do not know if it is possible.

The problem will surely lie in some dependencies. AFAIK,
'python-scipy' is not available in RH6, and many other packages will
have to be renamed in the script. (If it was up to me, installing a
recent version of Debian/Ubuntu would be the simplest way to get MEEP
running.)

I also found that there was an attempt to package MEEP into RPM for
Fedora/SL6: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.science.electromagnetism.meep.general/4390

If you succeed, I would be interested in your results.

Thank you Filip,

do you think it will work in RH4 env?

Hi, Valery, I spent some time trying to compile the newest version of
MEEP with multiprocessing support, and the procedure is here:

Folks,

I would appreciate an advice on how to install MEEP on RedHat4 (or newer

RH)
Linux Server.

Thanks
