FYI, if I was doing the project over again, I would use a slightly different method than signal_autoconnect etc. See old (2004?) pygtk post by Doug Quale about introspection. There's some code in the branch-0.9 folder in svn, but it was never finished. It's a much more robust way of doing things and less typing too.
