California cities may be entitled to certain unclaimed funds where the city is named as owner in the State Controller's files. You may query the Controller's file for your city by going to the Controller's home page (scoweb.sco.ca.gov) and clicking on the Unclaimed Property button. I'm told, a few counites have actually recovered money owed to them. Make your query several ways; like City of Hazeltine, Hazeltine City Clerk, Treasurer/City of Hazeltine, etc. Follow claiming instructions. The net data base carries a lot of the current, claimable property. There is a CD Rom available from the Controller for around $150 which is all inclusive.
