The City of Monterey Park is looking at ways to track its fixed assets in a
more efficient and effective manner. We currently use spreadsheets to track
our fixed assets, and it is very time consuming. Our Senior Accountant
spends 20% of her workweek to track these assets. We are thinking about
using a pc based fixed asset system which includes the feature of
depreciation accounting.
We would be interested in knowing if any of you use pc based fixed asset
software. For those cities that do, a couple questions:
(1) System name
(2) What is the name and contact person of the vendor?
(3) What is the approximate cost?
(4) Can this stand alone system be integrated with the accounting
system (i.e., general ledger) ?
(5) Are you satisfied with the system?
I would appreciate any input by April 7th and will summarize results. As
