Two upcoming training programs by the GFOA you should know about:: o While it isn't billed as "GASB 34" training, the GFOA will be holding a 2 day seminar in Sacramento on August 30-September 1 on "Advanced Financial Reporting for Governments." Based on the course outline recently sent to GFOA members, the main thrust of this seminar is on preparing Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR's) under the new reporting model. So, this will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about GASB 34, and how to put together quality annual financial reports under it. There will be an outstanding "faculty" for this seminar: Steven Gauthier and Jake Lorenz from the GFOA. o The GFOA will also be sponsoring a two-hour Internet-based training program at two times on June 28: 11:00 AM (EDT, so I guess 8:00 AM "our" time) and 2:00 PM (EDT, or 11:00 AM our time). They call this "Preparer's Series 1: Government-Wide Financial Statements." For more information on these training programs, contact the GFOA at: Phone: 312.977.9700 Fax: 312.977-4806 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web site: www.gfoa.org (Or, if you're a GFOA member, just check your mail: you got a detailed flyer on this titled "GFOA National Training Seminars.")
