Thanks for the quick response to the booking fee question. Attached is
the survey results in a Quattro spreadsheet. In summary, the fees range
from $0.00 to near $200.00. As the law reads, a County can charge a
City for the cost of booking a prisoner in a County jail. The law
refers to overhead allowed as per Circular A-87. There still appears to
be some discrepancies as to the definition of what is to be included in
the cost to be reimbursed. This topic will require additional work by
the Cities in Tulare County, and we will keep you posted on our efforts.
