There are several FISCAL REFORM PROPOSALS that are being presented to our
cities through SANDAG, Speaker's Commission on State/Local Finance, League
of Cities & California State Association of Counties. The common goal of
these agencies is restore local government fiscal stability through fiscal
reforms. Please provide your response to the following questions:
1. Which fiscal reform proposal is your city supporting and why do you
think this is more favorable than the other proposals?
2. Vehicle License Fee is one revenue that is being considered to be given
up in lieu of the additional 1/2 cents sales tax to the base tax, are you
aware of any current proposition that could likely affect cities continously
receiving Vehicle License Fee within the next 5 years?
3. If you have stated your position to council, is it possible to get a
copy of your staff agenda report?
