A new group Public Sector Web Professionals is holding a meeting on July 13th
in Palo Alto. The topic is e-commerce. Meeting notices went to City
Managers, City Attorney, City Clerk and Info Tech mailing lists, but Finance
folks were skipped, so, although it is late, I'm sending this e-mail to
inform you. There is no pre- registration or charge for this meeting
(although lunch is no-host) If you or your staff are interested, you are
welcome to just show up.

PSWP - Public Sector Web Professionals General Meeting Announcement
July 2000 General Meeting
E-Government, Gateways, Portals, public/private keys, Virtual City
Hall...what does it all mean? Most importantly, how do we - as Public
Sector
Professionals - develop safe, reliable, on-line applications that respond
to
community demands?
We'll go beyond the buzzwords to create a shared understanding of
concerns,
considerations, and options involved in planning and implementing on-line
transactions. Leading third-party providers - with their clients from
State
and Municipal institutions - will co-present real-world E-Commerce &
E-Government solutions chosen by public sector web professionals. Ample
opportunity is provided for questions and answers discussing how these
solutions may or may not work for your organization.
Neither a "conference" nor a "trade show", this meeting is an opportunity
for interactive discussion and information sharing focused upon informed
strategic planning and implementation. Each presentation includes a 20
minute prepared talk followed by a 10-minute Q&A period. In addition,
frequent networking breaks facilitate in-depth conversations between
attendees.
