The City of Thousand Oaks may explore the possibility of building and running its own
bowling alley/recreation facility. Given the high cost of land, we are looking at
purchasing a site and building our own facility. We are considering setting it up as
an Enterprise Fund activity...similar to how we run our public golf course.

Do any of your cities operate a public bowling alley? If so, who runs it...city staff
or do you have a private operator? Is it self-sufficient? Does it require General
Fund subsidies? Do you run it as an Enterprise Fund? How did you get into the
bowling alley business? Any advice/warnings for us?

If you don't operate a bowling alley, do you know of any city/local government that
does? I will share my findings with everyone.

Many Thanks!!!
