3. On certain items the Mayor will occasionally establish and enforce time limits on
discussion from the floor. We do attempt to agendize items in a manner that will
produce the most efficient meeting. All of which is only somewhat helpful.

Perhaps a bit off-subject for this group, nevertheless we are looking for some
information and suggestions regarding City Council meeting management issues. In
particular:
1. How often does your City Council/governing board meet?
2. What is the average length of such meetings?
3. What strategies have you employed, if necessary, to help manage meeting times
(e.g., shifting order of agenda items, limiting certain aspects, other)? Have such
strategies had the desired effect?
4. Any other ideas or suggestions you'd care to offer.
