David, This may be irrelevant to your questions and u probably already know this but when i converted my old stanza L16 to a L20 i had problems with the sump hitting on the x members, one of the sumps (i can't remember which one had the larger oil well in the back of it but the other had it in the front, but filter there was facing towards the back) i thought about taking off cross members and all that shit but then i realised if i just turned the filter (sorry i don't know proper name)around to face the front i could use the other sump. This worked fine and i didn't have to touch the cross members.
