Richard,
            This string was from a while ago but I would say that the car
your mate owned is the one that my uncle owns. I went around there today and
had a close look at the shell (which is now stripped in readiness for an
sr20) and as all the interior trim is out you can see that there has been
alot of major repairs carried out. You can see where the roof has been
repaired  from being rolled and virtually the whole left side of the car has
been welded back in with alot of bog chucked on the surface.
