vacum advance + chris + dumbness + pressure = broken vacum advance
I just managed to compress my series II bluebird vacum advance unit
so that the rear side of it became pushed in (toward the front). "Damn, oh
well, I'll just get a new one" that was my original thought but they are $90
new from Nissan, and the only person who will sell me one second hand
without the dizzy is about 1 hour drive away. GRRRRR. As i don't actually
know what the hell is inside the unit's caseing, I was just wondering
whether I would have broken anything important in doing so (I havn't bent it
much - it's only bent on the bottom though so it wont screw back onto the
dizzy). If I can put the mount bracket in a vice, and pull it back out,
will there be too much damage to even use it? If i do pull it out, and it
is beyond repair, an I just bolt it on anyway and just not have a vacum
produced - and then drive it for a little while? Thanks for any info -
chris.
