Pele,

The standard 4 speed 510/610 boxes have a monkey motion linkage and are
generally sloppy after about a year from being sold, so your's is well past
it's prime. Can be fixed but not really worth it, I recommend you get a 5
speed Stanza dogleg box (~$250) or a Stumpy R30 Skyline (~$400) and you'll
love the difference.

Standard diff for the Aussie 1600 4 speed was R160 3.7:1

Gday

I have never driven a datto before until i bought mine, and i was just
wondering are all the gearboxes like mine. When i change gears it clicks
out
of gear then clicks when i put it into the next gear, and when its in gear
you can still move the gearstik around. It is weird compared to other
manuals
i have driven and took some getting used to. Are all dattos like this or is
my car special? I was looking under my car today and saw that my diff was a
3.7, is this normal?

Pele.
