I have a question about import S15 SR20DET's. The jap-spec/tuned S15 is
rated at bout 187kW running on 100RON fuel. Nissan are releasing the
aus-spec/tuned S15 soon and its supposedly rated to 147kW running 95RON
fuel. Now what I am wondering is if I import the jap-spec S15 and run it on
95RON fuel will I be likely to only be getting 147kW out of it or will I
just get a lot of detonation or a combination of these?
What I am really after is an engine that will give me around the 180ish kW
mark in stock trim, meaning no reduced engine life. So if i get the S15
147kW engine I won't be getting this performance but it'll be safe. But if
I get the S15 187kW engine then it'll be trying to go hard but will be
dying in the arse from the crappy fuel we've got?
