>Whats the problem i ask.. Fan thru the radiator i'm told. Have u got a
>spare
>stashed away somewhere? i'm asked.. Have u not remembered how many of my
>dattos have gone into the back of 4WD's I answer.. Luckily Eric turns up in
>his speccy 200SX. He rings the ever suffering Loraine and confirms that he
>does have a radiator so we plan to meet him back at Toby's car where we
>will
>fit the spare radiator in record time and get back to the carpark quickly
>so
>we can stand around for a few hours and bullshit about cars and
>intercoolers
>and V8 wankers etc etc etc
>Well imagine our surprise when we find out that the car is parked on a part
>of the motorway which is only accessible from the north and requires us to
>drive up to the next exit and come all the way back. Luckily the damaged
>radiator has already been removed (with a pair of pliers and a
>screwdriver!!!!) so we start to get it prepared for erics return with the
>new radiator. Now the plastic fan has a blade missing so we figure thats
>the
>culprit but on further inspection it is noticed that the bolt holding on
>the
>lower engine pulley is missing and the pulley itself is all loose and
>wobbly. And eric has left his place and is on his way back.. Damn
>No worries i says.. i reckon i've got one of them, so scott and i take off
>for my place .. search thru my shed and finally decide i must have given it
>to shane.. damn
>10pm sat nite and where the hell are we gonna pick up one of these bolts.
>I'm starting to have visions of toby having to kip at my place so i start

>sight of the broken down datto and then all the way back and out into the
>sticks to erics place. Never been there in the dark before.. shit!! which
>driveway is it ??(we are talking RURAL here) after one wrong choice we find
>the right place but in total darkness.. Has the long suffering Loraine
>finally had enough of Datto shenanigans?? No she was just hiding LOL
>Can u believe that I removed this bolt from erics car without one bit of
>grease on my hands.. Man that car is soooo clean!!
>Back into scotts car and back up the motorway .. miles past the broken down
>datto and off the next exit and back down the highway, all the time trying
>to work out how many beers this is gonna cost toby. In the end i figured
>out
>that he would probly have to sell the datto to buy enough beers for all

>Anyway back at the scene the pitcrew swung into action and had the thing
>going in no time at all.. What a team
>.. connect everything up and try to start it and DOH!!! starter motor just
>whirs and doesn't turn the motor over ... burning is now starting to look
>like an option. Finally the mighty Datto fires up and we are off.. Back to
>the car park to continue (a) my romantic evening with sara and (b) all
>that bullshitting and stuff that guys do when they get together over cars.
>It was amazing how so many cars went past that scene on the side of the
>road
>and just hurled abuse .. didn't bother to stop and offer assistance just
>hurl abuse...

>Dattos.. The friendship and the feel that makes u wave to another Datto

>LONG LIVE DATTOS!!!
>cheers
>Mick
>PS i apologise for the length of this but it was a funny experience and
