Toyota is tricky with the way it wires a thermo fan - the thinking is that
if something blows in the fan circuit or the switch is disconnected then the
fan will start up and never turn off until the wiring fault is corrected.
You can actually do this using a Bosch relay, just use the 87A pin but you
need the Toy type switch as well.

i reckon terry would have answered your question regarding the
wiring....

the pulsar thermoswitch is normally open and when you get to the
desired temp the switch closes, allowing continuity between the
two wires.

toyota thermoswitches work opposite though ie are normally
closed, and go open circuit when the desired temp is reached.

so as long as you know you've got a pulsar one terry's wiring is
suitable, otherwise needs a simple mod. if in doubt the switch
operation is easily verified with a multimeter and some hot water.
