Some things I've learnt over the last two weeks;
1. You can't wash a starter motor that has no brushes left with diesel and
water and still expect it to kick over.
2. You can wash airhorns (but not compressors) with degreaser and water.
3. You can severly stuff up by putting the cam on the wrong way, and equally
as bad when inserting the distributor shaft the wrong way.
4. And finally, that a worked Z18 turbo (in a 1600) can still only do 16-17
second 1/4's.
I think that covers the big issues, Oh except for one ... some people really
know how to SCREW AROUND with 510 wiring, more dodgy buggering than a new
zealand sheep farm. (apologies to the NZ'ers)
I wasn't able to start the thing this afternoon but I had a thought tonight
that might make a difference, turning the distributor around 180 degrees,
cause at the moment I seem to get firing on the wrong stroke or something
like that.

yeah thought so, I actually had an auto elec guy have a look at it this
morning and he said he'd need to look at it in the shop so I got NRMA to tow
it there (about 1.5km) and hes now checking it out.
I'll let yous know what the outcome is.

PS. BTW, has anyone got 4 air horns wired up with two compressors? I found
the other horn outlet on my loom and am planning on fitting the above
arrangment, haha I can see it now the little datto screaming out "I'm comin
through!".
