Damo,
Sounds like you have a Stanza?
I reckon they are OK cars, they are more modern than the 1600 and have nice
touches like power-assisted brakes, rear defog element, windscreen wipers
that enable you to see (a bit) when it is raining etc...
Also they are a 'grey' car, everybody, including the cops, knows that bright
and shiny 1600's go hard, but hardly anyone knows about Stanzas and will
tend to subconsciously 'write them off' as a possible performance car-which
leaves you free to concentrate on other things :)
I think that you could get away with more in an all-singing, all-dancing,
walk-around-all-day-with-a-crazy-smile-on-your-face type Stanza than you
could in an equivalent 1600.
They are slightly heavier than the 1600 (~40 Kg) though, and have looks that
only a mother could love.
Mechanically I am running a mildly modified Bluebird Series 2 L20B, L24
flywheel and clutch, SSS gearbox and heavy duty H190 4.11 open :( rear end.
Brakes are R31/Bluebird discs all round.
The body looks awful and has been extensively lightened because of all the
'speed holes' ( r u s t ).
Regards,
Nick
