i'm having trouble with white froth at the top of my radiator.
the story so far:
i had my head reconditioned and in the process of taking the timing cover off to retrieve a dropped timing chain noticed that the top two bolts which hold the water pump to the timing cover had snapped off (which explains all the rubbery silicone? smeared over the water pump) anyway since i'm a lazy prick i left them in there and tried to put it all back together with only 3 of the 5 bolts holding the water pump on. needless to say it leaked water from the top of the water pump until the new gasket blew, and then it started pissing out. at this stage there was no froth in the radiator.
i bought some loctite gasket goo and smeared it all over the water pump face hoping that it would set hard and stop the leaks. this didn't work either. this was when i noticed that there was white froth in the radiator.
anyway i finally got around to doing the job right like it should have been done the first time. with a pair of vice grips i managed to get the snapped bolts out, bought some new bolts and bolted it all properly together. but there is still white froth at the top of the radiator.
i'm hoping that the loctite stuff still in the cooling system is causing this, but i'm worried that i have far more serious problems. i'm going to flush the cooling system today and hope that this fixes the problem.
any ideas?
