from me experience, 12a's and 13 b's had an oil metering system on the side
of the timing cover to feed engine oil into the carby. this mixed with the
fuel and lubricated the apex seals against the rotor housings.None of my
rotaries had seperate reservoir for oil. The worst part (with a stock carby)
was that if it sat too long, the fuel in the carby evaporated and left an
oil deposit, which smoked on the next start.

the rotor housings are chrome plated alloy which requires careful warming up
due to different heat expansion properties of the metals.warm em up and they
work fine, last ages.
