My brother has retrimmed his own doors in his RA28 Celica, with grey and purple vinyl, and they look fantastic. Trimming is not that difficult to do yourself, simple things anyway, I wouldn't just jump in and try and retrim seats or anything, but with some vinyl and contact adhesive you can get a good job, just be patient. I have done parcel shelves, speaker pods, steering wheels and am currently doing my gearstick boot.
